Some Reasons Why I Prefer Using Phones With Android Operating System.

A friend who read my article: Apple Integrates ChatGPT from OpenAI in iOS 18. The Revolution in Apple's Artificial Intelligence, he told me: "How strange that you have written about an Apple device if you hate them". As at that time we were discussing another matter and if I remember correctly, I think I just shrugged my shoulders. However, that's not exactly the case, "I don't hate them", I just choose to use phones with Android OS. This article is dedicated to that person.

Since their launch in 2007, Apple iOS phones have been synonymous with innovation and elegant design. However, over the years, a growing community of users, including myself, has found in Android phones an alternative that not only equals, but surpasses Apple devices in many aspects. . There is the title of this article: Some reasons why I prefer to use phones with Android operating system

SECURITY: A DIFFERENT BUT EFFECTIVE APPROACH

Security in iOS, a closed ecosystem. Apple has historically touted the security of its iOS operating system, highlighting its closed ecosystem and rigorous control of the App Store. This approach certainly has advantages as it limits the chances of malicious applications reaching users. However, this level of control also has its disadvantages.

Android, security and flexibility. On the other hand, Android, although known for being a more open operating system, has made great strides in security. With the implementation of Google Play Protect and monthly security updates, Android has significantly improved its threat protection. Additionally, the ability to install apps from multiple sources, while it may seem like a risk, also gives users greater flexibility and control over their devices.

OPEN SOURCE: FREEDOM AND CUSTOMIZATION

Limitations of the iOS closed ecosystem: Apple's closed ecosystem not only affects security, but also the customization and flexibility of the device. iOS users are limited to Apple-approved options and apps, which can be restrictive for those who want a more personalized experience and control over their devices.

Advantages of Android Open Source: Android, on the other hand, is based on open source, allowing developers and users an unparalleled level of customization and control. From modifying the operating system to installing custom ROMs, the possibilities are almost endless. This openness not only encourages innovation, but also allows users to adapt their devices to their specific needs.

HARDWARE VARIETY: MORE OPTIONS FOR THE CONSUMER

Hardware limitations on Apple: Apple offers a limited number of iPhone models each year, which may be insufficient for some users looking for specific features in their phone. Although Apple devices are high quality, this lack of variety can be a significant disadvantage.

Diversity in the Android ecosystem: In contrast, Android is compatible with a wide range of devices from different manufacturers such as Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, and many more. This diversity allows users to choose from a variety of prices, features, and designs, ensuring that there is always an Android device that perfectly suits their needs and budget.

INTEGRATION WITH OTHER SERVICES: BEYOND THE LIMITS OF THE APPLE ECOSYSTEM

Apple closed ecosystem. Apple has created a very cohesive ecosystem with its products like the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, which can be an advantage for some users. However, this integration can also be a disadvantage if the user uses devices from other manufacturers or prefers non-Apple services.

Interoperability on Android. Android, with its open nature, offers better interoperability with a variety of devices and services. From integration with Google Drive and other Google services to compatibility with third-party devices, Android provides flexibility that's hard to match.

COST AND ACCESSIBILITY: A DECISIVE FACTOR

The high cost, for many, of Apple devices. There is no denying that Apple devices tend to be significantly more expensive than many Android devices. This price difference can be a deal breaker for many users, especially in emerging markets where purchasing power may be lower.

Options for all budgets on Android. Android offers a wide range of devices for all budgets, from budget models to high-end phones that rival the latest iPhones. This accessibility makes advanced technology accessible to a greater number of people, democratizing access to smartphones.

In my opinion, although Apple's iOS phones have their advantages and a prominent place in the smartphone market, I continue to prefer Android devices for their improved security, flexibility thanks to open source, variety of hardware, better integration with non-proprietary services and a wider range of prices. The ability to customize and control these devices, along with interoperability and affordability, makes Android the superior choice for me. At the end of the day, the choice between iOS and Android will depend on the individual preferences and needs of each user, but from my perspective, Android offers a richer and more complete experience.
